Frustrating Friday

I had a wonderful sleep last night. It was 12 hours. I was only up a couple of times. I played with the idea of getting up to do Crossfit but um.... with no alarm, I missed it. I felt great when I woke up. The schedule got set. Swim, Spin, Swim with the kids.

We get loaded up in good time! This is amazing! Then to the YMCA. I walk through the doors in perfect timing. 1 hour before class and I get my spin slip. The kids are awesomely excited to go play and there are no hiccups to getting them signed in. I head to the changing room super excited about the next 2 hours. Except I forgot my swim suit. I had it by the door ready to go (it was drying separately) but in the hustle to get the kids out the door, I forgot it. So... Plan B. I have 45 minutes to Spin Class. I head to the Treadmill. I'm a little cautious. I don't want to over do it and fade during Spin Class. So 20 minutes. I do a 5 minute walking warm up. The it's on... So the plan is run 6 walk 1. I very quickly figured out I didn't have the steam today. My lungs ached. So... It was Run 2 walk 1. I managed that for 15 minutes. Figured I'd call it good and rest before spin. I did a 3 minute walking cool down and went to claim and set my bike up.

Spin. I was there early and made small talk with Spin Dude Tom. Yes. The same Tom. He wasn't suppose to be the teacher today but I lucked out! So I asked him a little bit about what he does - he runs and bikes. Dude joked about being 84 years old but I'm placing him at about 65 years old. We'll see. One Day I'll ask him.  I'm a little early so I fill my water bottle, spin the pedals and make small talk with other spinners. We get going... 5 minutes in and my feet are numb. seriously!!!! I keep going but it's hurty! I kept going but I have to say. I was tired today. My lungs ached and I was out of breathe a whole lot sooner. I worked the resistance instead of spins plan... so I pushed but not as fast as the "plan". I feel like I got a good work out. Heart rate was still higher than normal range.

Swim. Since I didn't have my swim suit, I let the kids play in the splash pad. Lizzie braved no floatie! SCORE and I was happy with the independence they showed - apart from Jack not listening (hitting people with a floatie). So it was 30 minutes of relaxing for me (shoes off and feet in the warm water) and drinking my water.

The afternoon is beautiful. I hope to go in the backyard with the kids and do some work. We'll see how the evening plays out. Over all. I was frustrated that I couldn't push as hard as I wanted too. I still have a little pride that I didn't give up. :-) yay me.
