Today I woke up with a start - and it was 6:45am. Why? No clue.
Our workout today was to swim at Lake Guntersville and then Run. On the way there (about an hour and ten minutes from my house) it was thundering, lightening and raining but one we got to the lake it was sunny and humid. We got together, ran through our swim plan (600m) and then actually got in the water. It was like a Redneck Spa. Lukewarm in temperature, silty mud, rocks on the bottom to massage your feet with weeds that tangle around your arms and legs as you walk & swim. We swam 200m (to one buoy and back) before the thunder started. Out of the lake we did - and came home. Apparently we can't risk lightening for the swim or run. So I came home, jumped into the shower and hung out with the family. There may have been a nap tucked in there at some point too.
It wasn't a long swim, but it was nice to get a "feel" for open water swim with friends along side me.
So here was The Plan and what really happened. I'd like to say Oops but it was great to spend time with family. So I'm learning to balance, set priorities and work hard when I'm doing it.
The Plan -
