Setting Priorities

Today I had to give myself a talk about Priorities. I am GREAT at creating a plan but not so great on following through. What makes it change? Priorities. We've all heard (or been told) we make time for what is important to us. Well - it's true.

I'm breaking old habits here and it's taking more effort than I thought. I have to pat myself on the back though- this is the longest I've gone with consistent effort towards exercising. I'm thrilled! However, to reach my goals, I must work the plan. This is proving to be a challenge.

So what are my priorities?
My Family come first. I'd like to say God, Me, My Marriage but collectively - Family. It's a balancing act. I must be healthy and take care of me, I need to model and teach my kids to do the same thing. So how do I do this and still have time for the things that are secondary? I have to stick to the plan - if I do that - there will be wiggle room for flexibility. Am I rambling? Yes.

I'm looking at this weekend and I have 2 big fitness challenges for myself. Saturday we are doing a Swim (400meters+OWS) and a Run (4miles+). Sunday I have a 5-6mile hilly run. This is more than I usually do in 2 days. However, if I would have stayed on page for prep- It would have been easier mentally - and I think Physically. However, I'm up to the challenge.

So.... I vomit all this to remind myself and yall, that we need to live by our priorities and the rest will take care of itself... And if you find that something isn't - then hey - it might be a priority :-)!
